Randomized Controlled Trial of Bony Ingrowth of An All-Polyetheylene Glenoid Component

This study compares the effectiveness of three different types of shoulder prosthesis fixation methods used during total shoulder arthroplasty.  These fixation methods are compared in terms of the amount of bony ingrowth at the repair site, overall success rate, and other clinical outcomes in an effort to improve long-term stability.

Short Stem Arthroplasty

The goal of this retrospective review is to evaluate the outcomes of patients treated with a new, shorter stem in anatomic shoulder arthroplasty. This short stem requires less bone drilling and fits into the bone without cement. We are evaluating surgeon implant positioning based on x-ray. Patients receiving the new, shorter stem implant will be compared to patient receiving a long stem implant.

Autologous Conditioned Plasma (ACP) Intra-articular Injections for Knee Osteoarthritis

This study assesses the safety and effectiveness of Autologous Conditioned Plasma (ACP) injection vs. a placebo saline injection for treatment of moderate knee osteoarthritis.  The autologous conditioned plasma double syringe system is used to rapidly prepare PRP (platelet rich plasma) from a small sample of blood.  The platelets are injected into the knee in an effort to modify the healing process of damaged or modified knee cartilage.
